Verification of Signatures in the Register of Enterprises
The Register of Enterprises has the right to verify signatures of individual merchants, capital companies of one founder, members of the board of directors of the capital companies, liquidators, administrators and proctors of merchants of the commercial companies.
The Regulations No. 1548 of the Cabinet of Ministers On the Regulations Regarding the State Fee for Signature Verification in the Register of Enterprises of 29 December 2009.
The Regulations specify the amount of the state fee for signature verification that is made by an official of the Commercial Register Office, as well as the procedure for payment of the state fee and privileges. The state fee for verification of one signature is 2,75 LVL. If three or more signatures are applied for verification in one registration file at the same time, the state fee for verification of each signature is 2 LVL. The state fee shall be paid before verification of the relevant signature.
Whose signatures are verified?
- Only signatures of the natural persons registered in Latvia and of those representatives of the legal persons whose representative rights are registered in the public registers of Latvia.
How signatures are verified?
- Identity and legal capacity of the signer are examined.
- No responsibility for the content of the document.
When verification of signatures is rejected?
- If the person has no legal capacity.
- If the person cannot prove his/her identity, the authenticity of the will.
- If the notary public do not obtain confidence on the identity of the person or authenticity of the will.
