Branch of a Merchant of a Member State
A branch is an organisationally independent part of an undertaking which is territorial or otherwise separate from the main undertaking and where commercial activities are systematically carried out on behalf of the relevant economic operator.
A branch of a merchant of a Member State may be established by a capital company of a Member State and by other economic operators of Member States. The list of economic operators of a Member State is available here.
A Member State is a Member State of the European Union, the Republic of Iceland, the Kingdom of Norway and the Principality of Liechtenstein.
A branch of a merchant of a Member State shall not be required to submit a document certifying registration and a statutes or contract of incorporation (decision), if the Member State has joined the system of interconnection of European registers (BRIS). The list of Member States is available here.
