Due to the introduction of the euro in Latvia, every capital company must denominate its equity (change of the equity for the transition to euro).

Documents for submission:

• Application form KR18
• Minutes of the shareholders’ meeting (signatures must be certified)
• New revision of the articles of association (signatures must be certified)
• Text of the amendments to the articles of Association
• A receipt or its copy, or a printout of the payment order from online bank or the information on the payment of the state fee
• A receipt or its copy, or a printout of the payment order from online bank or the information on the publication in the official gazette "Latvijas Vēstnesis"

Companies that have not denominated the equity by 30 June 2016 must notify the change of the equity for the transition to euro when notifying any other changes in the entries of the Commercial Register or the registration of documents (adding documents to the registration file) to the Commercial Register Office. 

The change of the equity to euro may not be notified when:

• A capital company that has not denominated the equity notifies the termination of its activities and submits all necessary applications for the liquidation. If the company takes a decision to renew the activities, the application for denomination must be submitted along with the application for renewal of the activities;
• Companies subject to the insolvency proceedings;
• Companies to be terminated without going into liquidation as a result of the reorganisation process.
