The beneficial owner (PLG) is a natural person - a founder of a foundation, including a foundation, a Member of the board of directors, a Member of another management institution (if such has been established), a beneficiary or another natural person exercising control over the foundation, including the foundation.

The establishment, including the Fund, shall immediately, but not later than within 14 days from the date of the acquisition of the information on the PLG or changes to the relevant information, submit an application to the Enterprise Register for the registration of the information on the PLG or for the registration of changes made to such information. Changes to the information on the PLG shall also be indicated when applying for changes in the composition of the board of directors.

If a board Member resigns himself, the application for information on the PLG need not be specified.

Documents to be submitted:

• an application for registration of information on the beneficial owner;
• a questionnaire for inclusion of information in the Register of natural persons (to be signed by the foreigner himself or herself with a secure electronic signature in order to submit electronically; if there is no secure electronic signature, this document shall not be submitted) of a foreigner (foreigner) who has a legal link with Latvia on the basis of which mutual rights and obligations in the field of commercial activities and taxes are formed or have developed, but no personal identity number of the Republic of Latvia has been granted;
• if the application is submitted by postal services, information regarding payment of the State fee shall be appended (receipt or a copy thereof, or printout of an Internet bank payment or free text information).
