Change of name of a foundation
2. Checking the name
The name is the designation of the foundation, which ensures its recognition.
Conditions for selecting a name:
- the name must comply with laws, regulations and good morals, for example, it must not include the name or symbolism of a military formation or of an organisation or group declared criminal or unconstitutional, the name and symbolism must not give rise to a positive attitude towards violence;
- the name must include the word 'foundation' or 'foundation';
- the name must clearly and definitely differ from other names already registered or applied for in the Register of associations and foundations or other registers of the Register institution;
- the name may not contain misleading information regarding the purpose, type of activity and legal form of the activities of the foundation;
- the name may not coincide with the names of State or local government institutions (institutions), as well as include misleading information that the foundation is endowed with public authority (the word 'State' or 'local government' may not be included);
- only letters of Latvian or Latin alphabet shall be used in the name;
- numbers can be used.
- punctuation marks are allowed: points, commas, colons, etc. punctuation marks;
- the symbols: &, @,%, +, = are allowed. No other symbols are allowed to be cast.
All documents to be submitted must bear the same name.
